To the reserve’s east, the Shire river cuts through the landscape and ultimately crashes over the Kapuchira Falls. Majete Hill, the reserve’s highest point, provides a breath-taking vantage point from which to see the whole reserve. In prime location for easy access to the reserve, and with its own productive waterhole, Thawale Camp is a simple peaceful outpost from which to experience Majete’s diverse wildlife offering. Completely unfenced, a stay here is a safari in its own right. Delta Tented Camp

Delta Mobile Tented Camp is set up at the banks of the Omo River, not far from the Dassanach village. The tents that are set up are big (Meru style) A-frames with two beds, a private shower (cold and hot), and a long drop toilet. There is a good kitchen with a top chef and a well-catered dining room. An appetising European menu is provided, and meals are served within an open-sided tent providing shade. The Dassenach tribe is famous for their distinctive jewelry, which is crafted from unique materials such as old digital watches and metal bottle caps. During your stay here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Dassenach and El Molo tribes, including the renowned crocodile hunter. If time allows and the opportunity arises, guests may also witness the Dimi ritual ceremony. The Dimi is the most celebrated event among the Dassenach, where men bless their daughters to promote fertility and ensure good marriages.

Arba Minch means "forty springs" in Amharic, and the name gives you the gist — this is a town built on water. It sits on a ridge above two of Ethiopia's great Rift Valley lakes, Abaya and Chamo, with Nechisar National Park stretching between them on a grassy plain locals call God's Bridge. Chamo has one of the densest Nile crocodile populations in Africa; you can see them sunning themselves at the Crocodile Market, a stretch of shoreline where they gather in numbers that take a moment to process. Up in the hills behind town, the Dorze people weave cotton and grow enset in villages built around tall, beehive-shaped bamboo houses. Arba Minch is also the jumping-off point for the Omo Valley and Konso further south, which makes it a natural stopover on any southern Ethiopia itinerary.

Set and struck at the drop of a hat, an all-canvas affair, and accessed by boat and foot, Mursi Mountains Fly Camp consists of a mess area and sleeping tents. A gazebo-type set up, the shared area includes includes a dining area and seating. The earth underfoot is soft and the climate warm, even in evenings, so guests can walk around bare foot. Please note there is access to minimal electricity at the camp and no Wi-Fi. Respecting the privacy of the Mursi, photography is limited to arrangements made between host and guide.
