I first liked Timbuktu due to their user friendly website. Then I fell in love with Timbuktu because of Joanna! She reached out to be to go over the trip I created. She was quick to answer any questions and helped tailor our trip to our likes and dislikes! She even gave great advice since she has experienced these locations first hand. She had recommendations that I didn’t think of! I really appreciate having a go-to contact. It was so convenient to have Timbuktu book all the activities and transportation. Their portal has so much information about the location we chose! I can’t recommend enough! It’s been such a fun experience working with Timbuktu!

I would definitely recommend Timbuktu as an agency. The process to decide where we wanted to go and to book everything was streamlined and fun! Katy was very responsive throughout the whole process. Wow! Jonty put together the most epic Kenya Safari trip for us. I truly appreciate how responsive and accommodating he was. He really listened to what we wanted out of this trip and he blew us away on how perfectly planned everything was. We enjoyed the beautiful, remote and magical lodge in Laikipia where we got to hike and truly be outdoors - and then flew to stay at an authentic campsite in Maasai Mara where the game drives offered endless amounts of animals and beyond breathtaking sunsets and views. I still can’t get over how genuine, friendly and helpful every staff member was at both lodges. We ate and drank like Kings and Queens! This trip was a trip of a lifetime and I am so grateful for everything Jonty did to make it even better than we could have imagined. It was a stress free trip having everything pre-planned and by providing transportation/guides at each location. We couldn’t have ever dreamed of or created such a wonderful adventure without Jonty and Timbuktu Travel and can’t thank them enough. My advice if you are looking to travel to Africa - 100% use Timbuktu to put together a personally curated trip for you.

I had a great experience with Timbuktu Travel. I loved that I could customize my trip directly on the website. As soon as I started to put together an itinerary, Catherine from Timbukru reached out and help me organize the best birthday trip. I wanted a 9-day trip in South Africa with a good blend of the city, countryside, and safari and that is exactly what I got. The transfers between destinations were seamless. They used Ilios Travel for this service and all of the drivers we met were kind, punctual, and professional. They also used Personal Africa as a concierge service in case I needed any assistance during the trip and Jossie from Personal Africa was great! She responded promptly to my emails/texts.

Katie did a great job quickly translating the description of the trip I was looking for into a perfect match itinerary. And this was particularly challenging because my trip was less than two weeks away in locations that are often booked months in advance. Trip went off flawlessly, every connection and accommodation was on time and as-advertised. Only item item I would request differently for next time is that all lodge descriptions include mention of whether or not there is internet access.
