I had a great experience with Timbuktu Travel. I loved that I could customize my trip directly on the website. As soon as I started to put together an itinerary, Catherine from Timbukru reached out and help me organize the best birthday trip. I wanted a 9-day trip in South Africa with a good blend of the city, countryside, and safari and that is exactly what I got. The transfers between destinations were seamless. They used Ilios Travel for this service and all of the drivers we met were kind, punctual, and professional. They also used Personal Africa as a concierge service in case I needed any assistance during the trip and Jossie from Personal Africa was great! She responded promptly to my emails/texts.

Katie did a great job quickly translating the description of the trip I was looking for into a perfect match itinerary. And this was particularly challenging because my trip was less than two weeks away in locations that are often booked months in advance. Trip went off flawlessly, every connection and accommodation was on time and as-advertised. Only item item I would request differently for next time is that all lodge descriptions include mention of whether or not there is internet access.

This is our second time using Timbuktu for a trip to Africa. Just like our first experience, everything about this trip was flawless. Timbuktu has a lifetime customer in us, and we're already starting to think about our next adventure!

I had a great time communicating with Catherine. She was incredibly knowledgable and helped me edit my trip until it was perfect. She gave me lots of honest feedback and did a fantastic job curating an epic honeymoon. She has been incredibly informative regarding additional travel information in general as well!

Katie flawlessly planned an itinerary across four countries, including at least a dozen transfers and four COVID tests. All I had to do was show up. Best and most relaxing vacation ever.

Joanna Rigby-Jones did a wonderful job booking the trip of a life time for my daughter and I. Frankly, we couldn’t have done it without her. When Covid entered the picture she was able to accommodate an 18 month delay without any substantial changes in cost. Can’t say enough on how great a job she did.

The service so far has been outstanding. Catherine spent much time understanding our travel style, our previous Africa travel, and what we were looking for in another trip.
