I enjoyed the trip planning process. And our planner really captured our vision for the trip and connected us with great places to stay and an amazing guide. However, the handoff with the local operating partner was a little clumsy, our itinerary upon arrival was not the same itinerary we agreed to, which was a little frustrating as we ended up with a full day with no activity at all.

I really appreciated Kristin's efforts to understand my priorities and help me come up with a trip that met my needs. Her personal on the ground experience gave me confidence in her recommendations. Her replies to my many emails were always fast (usually next day), her attention to detail was excellent, and her patience with my many questions and changes was impressive. The website made everything easy, from first playing around with potential itineraries to tracking all the final details.

We received incredibly patient support in exploring a whole host of options. No request was too onerous and, when I wondered whether I would ever get to the point of making a decision, I was told "Don't worry - we'll get there!"

Timbuktu team helped us planned an amazing safari in Tanzania. Since the beginning, they gave us their recommendations and heard our requests and this resulted in an extraordinary trip. Specially, Katie’s support and knowledge was great. I would definitely recommend Timbuktu to anyone planning a safari in Africa.

Our experience was just perfect. It was the first safari and we totally recommend it. We had a crush for Ambaseli and the wildlife. The Tortilis camp was just wonderfull. We had a exceptional service at the Ol Pejeta Cottages in Laikipia. And we finish in Sanctuary Olonana camp, it's a amazing luxury and relax place. Thank you to Timbuktu to create this dream for us.

Thanks to Jonty, my husband and I had the best honeymoon EVER! Jonty expertly crafted an itinerary that helped us navigate our 11 night vacation through Kenya without a hitch. We both agreed it was the best trip we've ever experienced and truly could not have done it without the guidance, care, and detailed help of Timbuktu and Jonty. After learning what we were interested in, he pointed us towards great lodging and excursion options that fit our needs and gave us flexibility within our budget. We ended up staying at all four properties in the Safari Collection and.. wow. Each location was so unique and special (we originally were going to skip Solio, and SO glad we didn't). Solio, Salas, Samburu, and the Giraffe Manor were all incredible in their own way and highlighted different wildlife, geography, culture, and cuisine. Jonty seamlessly made sure our travel and safety was covered from the minute we landed in Nairobi until the day we left. He booked all our internal flights, and arranged a team to fetch us to/from the airport. We were especially appreciative that he scheduled a driver to drive us around the city so we could collect some gifts before our flight home. Our flight didn't leave until 11:30pm so we had about 12 hours to kill, and without our driver, it would have been miserable waiting in the airport. 10/10 would recommend this company to help plan your next special trip!

I first liked Timbuktu due to their user friendly website. Then I fell in love with Timbuktu because of Joanna! She reached out to be to go over the trip I created. She was quick to answer any questions and helped tailor our trip to our likes and dislikes! She even gave great advice since she has experienced these locations first hand. She had recommendations that I didn’t think of! I really appreciate having a go-to contact. It was so convenient to have Timbuktu book all the activities and transportation. Their portal has so much information about the location we chose! I can’t recommend enough! It’s been such a fun experience working with Timbuktu!
