The Virunga Lodge and Gorillas in Rwanda were magical, Ol Donyo Lodge in Kenya is truly unparalleled, and Cottars 1920s in the Mara was truly unique and memorable. Planning a trip to South Africa is a once in a lifetime experience. I'd got a number of quotes from travel agents in the USA and was shocked by the costs. A friend told me about Timbuktu Travel and I couldn't be happier with my experience so far. The website allowed me to discover and research amazing places around South Africa. I have been impressed with the level of service I have received since I first reached out to Timbuktu. My safari expert, Kat, spent A LOT of time with me answering all of my questions and designing what looks to be a great first trip to Africa. She always responded with lengthy emails to my questions, and weighed pros/cons so that I could determine what would fit my budget and the experience I wanted to have. Kat far exceeded my expectations, and I am glad that I was able to work with her. It felt more like talking to a friend who had extensive knowledge of the area versus working with a distant travel agent. Thank you!
