A world-class diving hotspot, a honeymoon haven and wild and spectacular beach getaway – Mozambique’s Bazaruto Archipelago ticks many boxes. Declared a national park in 2000, the archipelago brims with dive sites that are among the best in the world, and rare dugong, seahorses, manta rays and whale sharks are regular visitors. This is the place for first-timers or experienced divers to take the plunge! Explore the long remote beaches, untouched by man for years; visit the charming lodges; and enjoy easy, laid-back island living. Bazaruto is the perfect addition to a southern Africa safari, we think you’ll agree.

Not only is Bazaruto perfect for sunbaking on endless beaches, cocktails at sunset and all the delights you'd expect from a tropical beach holiday, the archipelago's excellent variety of water- and land-based activities add a bit of spice to your ocean experience.
Take a day trip to abandoned Santa Carolina island – a rocky outcrop fringed by three beautiful beaches and a magnificent pink-tinged coral reef – for some truly private sun-lounging and exploring. We know why the locals call it "Paradise Island".
Although Mozambique is regarded as quite "off the beaten track", the town of Vilanculos (the gateway to Bazaruto) has become easily accessible from Johannesburg. The islands are still beautifully wild and pristine, but don’t expect to have them all to yourselves.

$50 from every booking goes to female empowerment, tech education, and conservation projects across the countries we love. We have donated $78,000 so far – and it's going up!
Your travel specialist is with you the whole way, dreaming up the trip, building the itinerary, checking you in, and answering the 2am question from the other side of the world..
