Serengeti
Serengeti Under Canvas is a luxurious semi-permanent tented camp that moves around the Serengeti, following the herds as they stampede across the grasslands in search of new grazing. This annual movement of more than two million wildebeest and other herbivores – and the predators that shadow them – across the Serengeti–Mara ecosystem is one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world. When you've had your fill of animals for the day, return to this sophisticated camp, with its luxury accommodation (with chandeliers, fluffy duvets and your own butler) to relax and be wined and dined in style. Heavenly!

Victoria Falls
Life perched 180 metres above the Zambezi in Zimbabwe's most dramatic gorge setting.
Clinging to the edge of the Batoka Gorge, just a short drive from Victoria Falls, this brand-new ultra-luxury retreat manages to feel wonderfully remote. The name Bupenyu means 'life' in the local Nambya language, which seems rather fitting when you're gazing down at the Zambezi thundering 180 metres below your feet. Designed by Experience Architects with cantilevered forms that echo the engineering legacy of the historic railway bridge visible downriver, stone-clad passageways lead through miombo woodland to eleven cliffside suites and a two-bedroom villa. Each comes with floor-to-ceiling glass, gorge-facing plunge pools and a design ethos that celebrates rather than competes with the landscape. It's sophisticated, eco-conscious and opening in December 2025.

Serengeti
The Serengeti National Park is one of Tanzania's oldest and best-known parks; a spectacular landscape with vast plains and iconic acacia trees. Every year, during the Great Migration, thousands of animals move across the plains; and a unique way to experience this phenomenon is to park yourself in a safari camp right in the migratory path. Situated next to the famous Grumeti River, Elewana Migration Camp is subtle, charming, and packed with game-viewing potential. It's also the place to sit back with a sundowner in hand, as you listen to the sound of hippos wallowing away into the twilight hours.

Masai Mara
Along a bend in the Talek river, reached by a swinging footbridge sits Mara Intrepids camp, tucked in a prime position inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Shaded by large trees along the river bank with everything being a short drive away this camp blends the wondrous comfort of permanent camping with efficient and welcoming staff and some lovely sweeping views over the surrounds. Close by is some exceptional game viewing-expect some thrilling river crossings! Enjoy drinks by the campfire, dinners in the bush or simply sitting on your porch listening to the grunts of hippos and the splash of crocodiles.

Serengeti
Outside the North-eastern border of the Serengeti National Park, perched amongst the Kuku Hills in a 10 000-hectare wilderness concession, sits Klein’s camp. Time it right and you can expect to be surrounded by lions, leopard, elephants, buffalo, gazelle and within reach of the Great Migration, all encased in a 360-degree view over the grassy plains and wooded hillocks down to the Grumeti River. Here, service is king and care is taken to provide an exceptional wildlife and safari experience all within a private oasis of old style safari luxury.

Set on the edge of Cape Town's beloved V&A Waterfront, where designer shops attract the chic set and everyone else comes to stroll, listen to music and enjoy pretty fine pizzas and other delights, is the uber-polished Queen Victoria Hotel. This small inn is indeed fit for royalty, with its intimate spaces and service that's both discreet and personalised. Visitors here generally want high-end accommodation and hospitality, and they get it in spades. There's a glut of shops on the doorstep, and sweeping beaches and mountains within easy reach by road. And the views from the hotel warrant a "Wow"!

Serengeti
Kusini lies in the southern reaches of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, close to the rocky outcrops called Moru Kopjes. One of Kusini's huge drawcards is its remote location – with no other camps nearby, guests are treated to exceptional game viewing with little chance, if any, of encountering other visitors. Six lavishly appointed safari tents make the most of the camp’s commanding position overlooking the plains. This region is renowned for its thriving population of resident game, notably lion and cheetah, and spectacular general wildlife viewing during the annual migration, which usually happens here between December and May.

The stylish new camp offers classic, tented East African panache (with all the luxurious touches) in an idyllic setting renowned for natural beauty and abundant wildlife.

Those who know little about the bush are still likely to have heard of the Serengeti and its annual Great Migration. It's a dramatic, often televised event, and Nyikani Camp sits at the intersection of it all. Set up in the busy migratory region of northern Tanzania's Mara section of the Serengeti, this small mobile camp takes advantage of key river crossings from late May to mid-November, when wildebeest and zebra migrate for more fertile grazing. With just eight canvas tents, the in-camp experience is much like those classic safaris featured in travellers' tales. This is high adventure, Serengeti-style...
