Chobe Water Villas

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

16 Rooms
|
From $1.4K per person/night
Stilted luxury and constant wildlife action on the banks of the Chobe River.

Chobe Water Villas lie along the banks of their eponymous river on the far eastern edge of Namibia’s Caprivi Strip (now called the Zambezi Region), close to where the waterway meets the Zambezi River. Here, where four countries – Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe – meet, game thrives. The lodge's 16 thatched chalets, set beneath trees on the riverbank, all overlook magical Sedudu Island, which is a haven for wildlife, especially elephant, buffalo and red lechwe. Part of the adventure lies in reaching the lodge – it’s only accessible by boat from the Botswana border town of Kasane.

Nambwa Tented Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

10 Rooms
|
From $760 per person/night
An elegant tented safari camp in a remote part of Namibia’s Caprivi Strip
Nambwa Tented Lodge is a fairly new addition to the handful of luxury safari lodges in Namibia's Caprivi Strip region, a game-rich wilderness where Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe meet. The lodge lies along the wooded banks of a tributary flowing into the Kwando River, deep within the relatively unknown Bwabwata National Park, with ten simple but beautifully designed tents overlooking the floodplains. In this part of the world, there are very few other vehicles (or people!), and this gives a real sense of exclusivity to a safari experience.

Cascade Island Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

4 Rooms
|
From $980 per person/night
Powerful waterways surround this superb island lodge in the eastern Caprivi
Cascade Island Lodge lies on the very eastern tip of Namibia's Caprivi Strip, with Zambia a stone's throw to the north, Botswana 1.5 kilometres to the south, and Victoria Falls 70-odd kilometres downstream. The lodge sits on tiny, densely forested Impalila Island, one of a small archipelago in the Mambova Rapids at the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers. The region is known for its prodigious wildlife, especially elephants, which reach their greatest concentration from June to November. With only four guest suites, Cascade is both private and romantic – a lovely lodge in a wild and watery setting.

Serondela Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

8 Rooms
|
From $410 per person/night
Find chic intimacy at this eco-lodge on the Chobe River's Namibian banks.
Serondela Lodge is a newcomer to Namibia’s range of luxury lodges on the Chobe River. With just eight rooms, including a larger family unit, you can expect a wonderfully personal experience, and and a sense that you have the magnificent views of the river all to yourself. What sets Serondela apart from the rest is its innovative eco-friendly design, with an organic flow that follows the contours of the river’s edge. It’s only accessible by boat, so game viewing begins right away as you cruise along the Chobe, famous for the huge numbers of elephant drawn to the water.

Kaza Safari Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

8 Rooms
|
From $750 per person/night
Rustic but stylish comfort on an island in the Zambezi.
While currently closed for renovations, Kaza Safari Lodge lies on beautiful Impalila Island, on the Namibian side of the Zambezi River. Formerly known as Impalila Island Lodge, this rustic getaway is accessible by boat transfer from the Botswana side, which makes getting there part of the adventure. The focus is naturally on the river, which draws a constant stream of animals, and nearby Chobe National Park, renowned for its huge herds of elephant. Listen to the water rushing past from your thatch and timber chalets (one of eight), and watch the passing wildlife parade from the lovely central area built around ancient baobab trees.

Nkasa Lupala Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

10 Rooms
|
From $230 per person/night
Wetland paradise with diverse activities in Namibia's Caprivi Strip.
This hidden gem of a camp combines fantastic game viewing, a superb location on a channel of the Kwando-Linyanti river system of Namibia's Caprivi Strip, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. It's a stone's throw from some of high-end properties in Botswana (that come with correspondingly high-end price tags!) and Nkasa Lupala Lodge offers just as wonderful as experience at a fraction of the price. Self-drivers are welcome, but despite its accessibility, Nkasa Lupala (previously Mamili) National Park is a true, unspoiled wilderness with a variety of habitats that support an even bigger diversity of wildlife.

Hakusembe River Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

Popular |
20 Rooms
|
From $210 per person/night
Tranquil riverfront lodge in Namibia's remote Caprivi Strip.
Namibia's northeastern Caprivi Strip is known and loved for its river-nourished landscapes, good game viewing, and especially its fishing. A narrow wedge of land jutting out from Namibia's girth, it touches Angola, Zambia and Botswana, and is a geo-political wonder in itself. Though decidedly out of the way, it's a perfectly adventurous destination for self-drivers who have time to 'take it slowly'. Hakusembe River Lodge is nestled amid an oasis of lawn and shady trees overlooking the Okavango River. Its main attraction is the river and its wildlife, and keen fishermen can easily justify more than a transitory stay.

Chobe Savanna Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

Popular |
13 Rooms
|
From $520 per person/night
Re-Opening 8 May 2026!

On a remote stretch of the Caprivi's floodplains, only accessible by boat.

One of the more remote locations for a safari, Chobe Savanna Lodge sits in Namibia's Caprivi Strip - a narrow wedge of land to Botswana's north that connects Namibia to Zambia. A privileged position indeed, this camp is only accessible via an hour's boat ride, launched from the town of Kasane in Botswana. (Getting here is half the adventure). Once you arrive you'll enjoy the 180-degree views from the lodge's exquisite main area overlooking a floodplain on the banks of the Chobe River. Here the wildlife and landscape are enjoyed almost exclusively from the boat (except when waters are low enough to take a guided walk on the floodplain - a very brief window of time). This place truly forces one to slow down.

Kazile Island Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

10 Rooms
|
From $340 per person/night
Escape to this paradisal Namibian bush lodge with exceptional river views
Kazile Island Lodge is elegantly 'suspended' along the banks of the Kwando River in Namibia. It's simple, minimalist design and ten Meru canvas tents overlooking an idyllic stretch of water, bring you closer to nature than you might ever have felt before. The lodge is only accessible by boat and is set deep in the heart of the Bwabwata National Park's Mangostene forest, with views across the river, expansive floodplains and the famed Horseshoe Bend. Watch the sun rise over the trees as elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffes, zebras and sitatunga (an elusive aquatic antelope) meander across the riverbanks.

Divava Okavango Resort

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

20 Rooms

From $240 per person/night
Beautiful lodge right on the edge of the Okavango River in Caprivi, Namibia
Divava Okavango Resort and Spa is perched on the edge of the Okavango River, just a mile downstream from Popa Falls in Namibia's Caprivi Strip. A relatively large, mid-range lodge, it offers comfortable accommodation, superb food and good access to the region's wildlife. The river takes centre stage, but there are also two nearby national parks that complete the experience. The lodge atmosphere straddles that of a hotel and a bush lodge, leaning slightly more toward the commercial than the camp feel. The result is probably fitting considering its location: a blend of wilderness with surrounding communities and infrastructure nearby.

Lianshulu Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

12 Rooms
|
From $370 per person/night
Fall asleep to hippos grunting at this tranquil riverine bush lodge.
Lianshulu Lodge is a rustic bush camp on the banks of Namibia’s Kwando River, in the far northern Caprivi Strip wilderness region. Eleven timber and thatch bungalows offer comfortable accommodation in a tranquil and secluded setting, with wonderful views of the river flowing past, and Botswana on the other side. This is a good choice for those who enjoy water-based game viewing, as boat cruises are the main focus. Lianshulu falls within Mudumu National Park, and is one of Namibia’s birding hotspots, with a variety of wildlife to be seen along the river and in the surrounding reserve.

Camp Kwando

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

29 Rooms
|
From $190 per person/night
A Caprivi gem that's easy on the pocket
Flowing all the way from Angola, passing Camp Kwando and joining up with the mighty Zambezi, is the Kwando River. This great water source has many stories to tell and you can listen to it whisper its watery tale from this beautiful riverside lodge in the eastern Caprivi region. Experience Africa’s wildlife from its winding waterways, fish for Tigers, birdwatch or embark on a safari at nearby Mudumu Game Reserve.

Jackalberry Tented Camp

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

5 Rooms
|
From $530 per person/night
Affordable tented camp and a dynamic wilderness on Namibia's Caprivi.
This simple, rustic lodge sits in a superb yet often overlooked wilderness area on the southern heel of Namibia's Caprivi Strip, in Nkasa Rupara (formerly Mamili) National Park. Just across the Linyanti River from Botswana and within the reach of self-drivers from major travel hubs such as Victoria Falls, Jackalberry may be easily accessible, but its surroundings are thoroughly wild. Nkasa Rupara's relative obscurity makes this area more affordable than its neighbours. Nevertheless, independently owned Jackalberry is more than just a good deal. It exudes charm and personality, from the quirky three-tiered bar and dining area to the expert staff.

Nunda River Lodge

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

19 Rooms
|
From $40 per person/night
A riverside retreat where hippos wallow and fish eagles soar along the mighty Okavango.
Perched along the banks where the Okavango River tumbles over ancient rock formations, this delightful hideaway offers front-row seats to one of Africa's most spectacular waterways. The lodge strikes just the right note between wild and wonderful - imagine sipping your morning coffee as an elephant breaks through the riverine forest, or watching the sky turn purple as fish eagles call their haunting duet. With two magnificent game parks on the doorstep and more activities than you can shake a fishing rod at, you might find yourself extending your stay... just to tick off that elusive Pel's fishing owl, of course.

Nkasa Linyanti

Caprivi (the Zambezi Region)

6 Rooms
|
From $640 per person/night
Glide a dugout through Delta-like channels in Namibia's wildest wetland

Up where Namibia, Botswana and Zambia almost meet, the country swaps its dunes for water - a maze of channels, floodplains and palm-dotted islands you'd swear was the Okavango Delta, which sits just to the south. The difference is how few people you'll share it with - this is the only camp on the island. The tents are raised on stilts with walls that fold right back onto the wetland, so the view does most of the decorating - with not a fence in sight. Days run to game drives, walks and slow hours afloat; nights to long dinners under a sky full of stars.

Taranga Safari Lodge

The Okavango river is home to a rich variety of wildlife, making Taranga Safari Lodge a first-class destination for boating, birding, and fishing. The spacious deluxe luxury chalets offer guests a secluded and peaceful experience of the river. The riverbank tented cottages are set amongst towering riverine trees and include a private wooden deck, an en-suite bathroom with a luxurious bathtub and shower - everything needed to enjoy the African bush in luxury. The peaceful waterworld of the Okavango provides an ideal experience of the African sunrise or sunset. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the wildlife along the river, including birds, hippos and crocodiles. Glimpse the friendly villagers rowing by on their watus. During flood season, water lilies brighten the channels. The Nguni Restaurant, set on a large deck with a view of the river, is named after the unique breed of multicoloured cattle that is central to traditional life in the Kavango Region. These cattle can be seen grazing along the roads leading to Taranga and sometimes even swimming across the river. The Kingfisher River Bar floats on the Okavango River, providing a relaxing place to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset.
